  • Lagelu Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Congratulates Oyegbori On Appointment

    The executive chairman of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi has congratulated a stalwart of Lagelu-PDP, Alh. Fatima Oyegbori over her appointment as member to the Oyo pilgrim welfare board by the Oyo State government.

    The executive chairman in a statement by his office described Oyegbori’s appointment as the only possible end result of her ingenuity, resilience, leadership and hard work in the peoples democratic party.

    “Let me be clear, Mrs. Fatima Oyegbori has a proven track record of leadership, resilience and hard work in grassroots political process— and her recent appointment by the state government can only be the possible end result for these”, he said.

    Recalling on the three of state appointments slotted to Lagelu at the close of 2023— and now the new one at the start of year 2024, the council chairman reportedly thanked the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his consideration on what he termed a “Big Win” for Lagelu in state appointment.

    Congratulating Oyegbori, the executive chairman averted that the peoples trusts are in her ingenuity, integrity and resilience to serve and give her best in her new role.

  • 2023 election: leave Atiku out of your blame game, Fabiyi blasts Deji Adeyanju

    A chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked a popular activist, Deji Adeyanju, not to blame the Presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, over the outcome of the last 2023 presidential poll.

    In lieu of passing the blame on Atiku, Fabiyi said Adeyanju should blame himself and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for “its failure to comply with its self-imposed regulations to conduct a credible, free and fair election in Nigeria.”

    The party Chieftain made this known while absolving the former Vice President of the blame game in a statement issued on Thursday IN Abuja.

    The statement read, “I am constrained to disagree with you on your submission about the outcome of the 2023 presidential election and your uncharitable conclusion about the role played by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP in the election.

    “It was most unkind of you to presume that Atiku could have willfully stopped the ambition of Peter Obi alongside the decision of the Wike led G-5 to commit class suicide.

    “The political reality of the 2023 election meant that these men were bent on pursuing their ambitions, which is permissible by the law. If you knew Atiku’s political antecedents, you would know that Atiku is a multi-party democrat and would be the last person to stop the ambition of an opponent for any reason whatsoever.

    “Should any blame be passed on the 2023 Presidential Election, such blame should go to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its failure to comply with its self-imposed regulations to conduct a credible, free and fair election in Nigeria.

    “Quite a number of civil society organizations and personalities, including even you, Deji Adeyanju, canvassed for the electronic transmission of results. Curiously INEC did not keep to its words, and you here, Deji and others kept mute about the anomaly and chose to blame the opposition political figures for inadequacies that defined the 2023 presidential election.

    “INEC made a humongous budget for the procurement of technologies and the infrastructure to ensure the transparency of the election, but the commission failed woefully on its own mandate.

    It stressed that “Civil society bodies, which ordinarily ought to be the bastion of democratic good governance, unconscionably played deaf and dumb to the development and turned their backs on the decision of the Court of Appeal when it pronounced that electronic voting was not a compulsory mandate on the conduct and collation of election results.

    “Rather, unfortunately also no one heard your voice, Deji, when the Chicago State University released its discoveries that the truth that Bola A. Tinubu forged his academic credentials. Atiku’s lawyers fought vigorously to make discoveries of gross misconduct about the man who had just been elected President of Nigeria, but sadly, neither you Deji, nor any other civil society organization, caused a protest in demand for investigation into Tinubu’s fraudulent claims on his education and his possible impeachment.

    “Leave Atiku Abubakar from your blame game and rather look through thyself for the blame.

    “How dare you blame Atiku who did the unthinkable and brought to the fore what the ruling establishment would want hidden? Whose interest are you serving? Whatever interest it may be, I believe that it is the interest of anti-democratic elements.

    It is only in comparatively recent years that attention has been given to bee-keeping on a scientific basis. Aforetime there were certain traditional methods to be followed to secure the honey harvest, but those who practised them knew neither the why nor wherefore. Today, however, thanks to the observations of our great scientists on the life and habits of the bee, to their patience and diligence in noting the insect’s manner of working, we are in possession of knowledge which has enabled the practical bee-keeper to reduce the old haphazard ways to method, orderliness, and definite purpose.

    The budding bee-keeper, as he reads one or other of these great works on the bee and its ways, may begin to wonder if it is not all too wonderful for him to deal with, and if he may ever hope to become proficient in the art and practice of bee-keeping. Let me say, here and now, that, given patience, perseverance, and diligence, a measure of success is open to anyone who brings intelligence into his work.

    I’m spending more time with
    my family, exercising more,
    and getting more sleep.

    Although the doubts and difficulties that assail the tyro, and the questions arising therefrom, might raise a smile from the expert—if only as a reminder of his own early aspirations and efforts—yet there is no reason for despair; though disappointments are certain to arise, they should be accepted merely as spurs to further effort, as steps towards the ultimate goal of success.

    Some may think—rashly—that there is nothing new to be said or learned about the bee, but the fact is that even scientists are still ignorant as to the definite uses of certain of the insect’s organs, and of the origin and remedies of some of the diseases from which it suffers. Putting aside, therefore, the merely commercial aspect of bee-keeping, there is still a wide field of interest and research open for exploration by the intelligent bee-keeper.
