• The Chairman-elect of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru on Wednesday announced his transition and inauguration planning team, with a brief from the Chairman-elect’s office stating that the transition committee will be led by Dr. Babatunde Obideji, one time campaign DG to Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2023 guber election in Lagelu— and the inauguration planning committee by Hon Jide Adeniran who served as campaign DG to the Chairman-elect in the 2024 local government election.

    The creation of the Transition and Inauguration planning committee gives Hon. Kamorudeen a formal structure through which to undertake the tasks necessary in the orderly transition into executive office of the local government— it has also been stated as an enabler for the committee members to working hand-in-hand with the outgoing chairman and his team for a detailed transfer of power to the new administration.

    In a brief that followed the announcement of the two committees, the chairman-elect, Hon. Kamorudeen said members shortlisted on the two committees have significant government administration experience which will serve well in the transition and inauguration process.

  • A stalwart of peoples democratic party, and coordinator of the GSMist group in the United States, Hon. Segun Folorunso Akande on Sunday congratulated the Lagelu Chairman-elect, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, and vice chairman-elect, Hon. Raji Sodiq on their election victory from the April 27th council election.

    The PDP stalwart commended the people of Oyo State on the successful completion of the council elections across 33 local government areas.

    Congratulating the 33 council Chairmen-Elect, Folorunso said the GSMist-USA is joining hands to welcome the party’s impressive win from council poll.

    “The GSMist-USA stands with all Oyo Chairmen-Elect in welcoming this historic, peaceful and impressive election victory, which is a significant milestone in the state’s democratic progress,” he said on Sunday.

    Further in his remarks, Segun Folorunso Akande commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), and other relevant institutions for a record of transparency in the election management, and the competitiveness of political parties characterized by it.

  • The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi has congratulated the new Lagelu chairman-elect, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, his vice, Hon. Raji Sadiq and fourteen councilors who had together emerged victorious from the April 27th council election.

    In a congratulatory message released by his office on Monday, the council chairman emphasized his belief in the potentialities of the newly elected council officials for optimum delivery of governance.

    He lauded members and leaders of peoples democratic party for their mass turnout at various poling units— thanking them for a job well done.

    Further in the statement, the council chairman called on party stakeholders and the good people of Lagelu— for the continuation of their good support to the newly elected council officials.

  • The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Mudashiru Kamorudeen has taken an early electoral vote lead in the race for Lagelu chairmanship, recording great wins across fourteen wards of the local government area.

    Kamoru has reportedly won nine out of fourteen geopolitical wards of the local government area.

    Projections shows Mudashiru Kamorudeen is sweeping over 70 percent of electoral votes in the. Chairmanship race.

  • In one of the latest political developments, five major groups; governmental and social simultaneously endorsed Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen for the chairmanahip of Lagelu local government area.

    The groups included The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), League of Imams and Alfas, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), market leadership group and the traditional rulers council in the local government.

    All five groups endorsed Mr. Kamoru ahead of the April 27 council election. It was a development that proved to be the latest point in the election cycle that the five major groups had ever backed a Chairmanship candidate in the local government area.

    In reaction to the development, the Chairmanship candidate, Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen said his campaign was “honored” and very appreciative to receive the groups’ endorsement, adding that he looked forward to working with them throughout his administration, upon his election into office.

  • The Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagelu, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has congratulated the honorable member of the Oyo State House of Assembly- representing Ibadan North State constituency II— heaping praises on him for the extraordinary work of representation.

    Following is the text of the Chairmanship candidate’s message.

    Warm greetings to Muslims across and around Lagelu local government area and Oyo State— as we celebrate the completion of Ramadan, a holy month of prayer, fasting, reflection, and good works.

    As a religion, Islam has been a source of profound strength and guidance for many— and, proud to say members of the Muslim Lagelu community have made enormous contributions to our life in the local communities.

    As we celebrate, I ask that we join together in sharing the wellsprings of our faith with those who are different, to help people understand the values and the humanity that we share in common, and the texture and fabric and fiber and core of the beliefs and practices of Islam.

    In honoring the call of the holy prophet Muhammad— for peace and harmony, I ask each and every Muslim brothers and sisters again to rededicate ourselves in the days, weeks, and months after Ramadan- to making sure that others in our communities truly understand and appreciate the faith we embrace, its practices, its beliefs, its precepts and its inclusive humanity…Again, I say to you as we celebrate, in addition to your prayers and work for peace and understanding and reconciliation within various communities, I ask especially for your prayers for our local government- Lagelu, our dear State- Oyo, and our nation- Nigeria.

    The holy month of Ramadan has brought a promise of renewal and hope for us. I pray that, as the new moon has risen, we will witness the beginning of a new era of faith, blessings, tolerance and hope in our various local communities.

  • The Chairman of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi has called for solidarity among communities of faith in Nigeria. He made the charge while congratulating Muslims in the local government area for the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

    In a new release by his office on Wednesday, the council chairman said he hoped every Muslims continue to live by the good acts of tolerance, understanding, and giftings beyond the holy month of Ramadan.

    The statement reads;

    “I join the people of Lagelu in sending warm congratulations and best wishes to every Muslim faithful across our local government area and Oyo State, as we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan”.

    “The fasting, prayers, acts of charity, and sacrifices made by every Muslims over the past 30 days, no doubt, has been an inspiration to all people of faith”.

    “I just hope everybody bear in mind, especially at a time like this in our nation, that the Eid-ul-Fitr is an opportunity for all communities of faith to stand in solidarity with one another by demonstrating gratitude to Almighty God, promoting peace and harmony in our community, and showing benevolence to our fellow citizens by sharing and through other acts of compassion, especially with those among us who are in need. A durable inter-faith understanding, in essence, can be a powerful pillar of peace, love and unity for our beloved country and all of its societies”.

    “As we come to the conclusion of this sacred month of Ramadan, let us take a moment to pray for a nation that is filled with peace, love, and understanding”.

  • The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi has said he’s very much delighted to celebrate his aunt, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu— on her 65th birthday.

    In a congratulatory message, the council chairman said Senator Sunmonu’s career in politics has left an undeniable imprint on the country’s public service.

    The executive chairman extolled the one time member of the Nigerian senate, averting that she has served the people with a level of grace, humility and fidelity to the best of ideals that can only be hoped— all other public servants strive for.

    Going further in his congratulatory message on media, the council chairman noted Senator Sunmonu as a leader with an independent mind, and a record of excellence and integrity.

    While extending his warm wishes to Senator Sunmonu, the Lagelu local government chairman said he only wish for his aunt, a longevity of life in more greater service to God, and humanity.
