The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has celebrated the Oyo ace journalist, Mayor Isaac Brown on his birthday.
The council chairman on Monday described Brown as a seasoned journalist with many contributions to the fourth estate of the realm.
The statement partly reads;
“From deep reporting, informed questioning, and in-depth analysis- Brown’s work has always been essential to journalism endeavor”.
“As a genius of a man with indescribable versatility in journalism— Brown remains a prodigy; a jigsaw puzzle that one can only aspire to, but not fully understand”.
“I think this human world heritage, and quintessential journalist- deserves nothing less than our Hearty Congratulations, on his birthday anniversary”, he remarked.
The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Mr. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has appointed the Lalupon-born Olubiyi Opeyemi Rasheed as his chief of staff— while naming three other close aides.
The announcement of the appointments came on Monday at the council secretariat in Iyana-Offa.
With the announcement, Rasheed Opeyemi who served in similar capacity in the last administration- is to continue his job as Chief of Staff to the new Executive Chairman of the local government.
Further in the announcement, the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kamorudeen named three other staffers to work alongside him as close aides— this was inclusive of a Personal Assistant (Office); Domestic Assistant; and an Official Photographer.
The three other individuals announced in the aide staffing are as follows;
Abass Adeyemo– Personal Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Lagelu LG
Ishola Ridwan– Domestic Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Lagelu LG
Ridwan Salawu— Official Photographer to the Executive Chairman, Lagelu LG.
Following the announcement, the council chairman said he’s confident that the appointed aides will serve in the good interest of his administration- for the betterment of the people— averring that he looks forward to working with each of them in his chairmanship.
The immediate past chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Kazeem Gbadamosi has hailed Engr. Seyi Makinde for his record of achievements in the last five years, as Oyo State Governor.
The ex-council chairman gave commendation of the state governor on Thursday, maintaining that the Oyo State people are the most fortunate- having Engr. Makinde in charge of the state affairs.
” On this 5th year anniversary, I extend my congratulations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde on the record of achievements in the last five years”, he said.
Further in his statement, the ex council chairman identified one of best achievements under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to include a time to time consideration of pro-people’s policies in the state.
Followed by a large entourage of council staffs, personal aides, security personnels and support groups, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru alongside his vice, Hon. Raji Sadiq on Monday undertook an official tour of the Lagelu council secretariat at Iyana-offa.
During the tour which took place in his first day of assumption to office, the Chairman inspected on administrative buildings, departmental offices and manufacturing factories within the council secretariat.
The exercise, according to report, was said to have been undertaken in order for the chairman to find out about the state of his new working environment.
Getting to know more about his new working environment, the executive chairman complemented the council secretariat touring exercise with brief meetings with all Senior Staffs in the local government council.
The Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has said his administration will be strongly committed to child support initiatives and protection programs.
The council chairman made this known in a new statement by his office- in commemoration of the children’s day on Monday.
In the statement, the Lagelu chairman gave assurance of his plans in leveraging extant laws in the state and the nation; as well as partnering with local schools, families, relevant child-based organizations and communities in addressing teenage pregnancy, child-labour, child-bullying, out-of-school menace— and every other existential crises capable of putting children at risk in his local government area.

Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to him to serve, and to all the critical stakeholders in Lagelu for their support and contributions to the success of his emergence as Executive Chairman of the local government.
In a new release by his office on Sunday, the newly sworn-in chairman said all of the stakeholders in his local government have really buckled down to make his chairmanship a possibility.
The statement reads in part;
“There are some people that I especially want to thank. First of all, the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the opportunity given to me to serve; and secondly the critical stakeholders from traditional rulers to elder-statesmen; party men and women; friends; families; and associates for every inch of support that we’ve received right from the start of our campaign to the height of the election, and finally to the inauguration ceremony on Friday. My chairmanship would not have been possible without them— and I really want to, again, thank them for the outstanding work that they did for this success”, the council chairman said.
Going further in the statement, the chairman said he hope to build on the foundation of unity and close-engagement that his campaign rode on— for a better result in the delivery of governance in his administration.
“I quite know expectations are high of this new administration- and so, in meeting the expectations of the good people of Lagelu, I must prepare everyone that our principal strength shall lie in close engagement with communities, and in public introspection- which everyone have come to expect of leaders— a performance of authenticity of sorts that turns leaders’ personal experience with his constituents as a source of legitimacy in the eyes of all”, he concluded.
On Friday, the new Executive Chairman of Lagelu officially took office through oath taking and swearing-in ceremony.
During the event, Mudashiru Kamorudeen recited the oath of office to become Lagelu chairman at the House of Chiefs, Oyo House of Assembly Complex, Agodi Ibadan— and later returned to Iyana-Offa to perform inauguration ceremony, and oath taking for his 14 councilors.
An estimated thousands of people swarmed on the local government secretariat to welcome the new chairman in grand style.
While delivering his inaugural address, the new Lagelu chairman announced an Advisory Committee and a Development Planning and Research Committee for the smooth running of his new administration.
Naming the one time Lagelu chairman, Hon. Jide Adeniran as head of the Advisory Committee, head of the Development Planning Committee was said to be announced as soon as practicable by the new chairman.
In his final official statement as Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government, Gbadamosi Kazeem Adeyemi today made remarks on his unending appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, and the people of Lagelu for the privilege he’s received to serve.
His parting statement reads;
“I am about to get on with the rest of my life. But before I do, I want to register my profound gratitude with the Oyo State Governor, and the good people of Lagelu local government. Honestly, It’s been the honor of my life serving Lagelu”.
“I am eternally grateful to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for the opportunity given to me to serve my people, and to work for them in that office”.
“I am profoundly grateful to Vice Chairman Biodun Badmus, and Secretary Olanrewaju Olatinwo, my 14 Councilors, Supers and SAs, and to all those who have served with me for the last three years”.
“And to my loving PDP family, who have been steadfast in their support for me these these years. I thank you for accepting me for who I am. Thank you for your three years of unparalleled support”.
“In all the work I have done as Chairman— every decision I have made, every action I have taken— one thing I’ve come to realize is that leadership most times comes with a weight of responsibilities, and some times, a load of challenges”.
“I have steered my course as Executive Chairman, and it ends here. My deepest gratitude to a community of people I’m surrounded by”.
“I join all Lagelu indigenes and residents in wishing our very best to the next Executive Chairman, Mudashiru M. Kamorudeen, to his family and his administration, in meeting every challenges that comes with leadership. Knowing how big a job, how hard a job, it is, being in that office which is most closest to the people— the new council executives would need the understanding and the help of everyone. I’m assuring them mine, and I want all of Lagelu sons and daughters to give theirs too”.
“My days in this office are nearly through, but my days of service, I hope, are not. In the years ahead, I may hold positions in different offices. But there can hardly be a greater honor than being Lagelu chairman”.

The Lagelu Chairman-Elect, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has congratulated the local government’s 14 newly elected House members on their electoral victory and upon recipience of Certificate of Return from the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).
The Chairman-elect extended his warm congratulations to the 14 Councilors-elect through a statement by his office on Thursday.
Extending his warmest congratulation, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru told the 14 Councilors-elect how proud he was of the campaign they ran, and the victory they earned from election pull— describing the electoral victory of the 14 Councilors-elect as an inspiration to the young generation.
“I could not be prouder to congratulate our 14 newly elected House Members (Councilors) in Lagelu local government… Congratulations to you all on your momentous victory” Kamoru said in the statement.
Continuing in his statement, the Chairman-elect charged the 14 new Councilors-elect to bring out the best in them in the work of service to the people— stressing his confidence in the strength and capacity of the newly elected house members for a better representation of their respective wards.
“As I congratulate you all on your momentous victory, I urge you’ll to bring out the best in you in the work of service to the people…. Key into this, and you can be assured that for as long as you keep your eyes on the ball, even the sky won’t be limiting”, Kamoru stressed.
The Chairman-elect of Lagelu local government area, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru on Wednesday announced his transition and inauguration planning team, with a brief from the Chairman-elect’s office stating that the transition committee will be led by Dr. Babatunde Obideji, one time campaign DG to Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2023 guber election in Lagelu— and the inauguration planning committee by Hon Jide Adeniran who served as campaign DG to the Chairman-elect in the 2024 local government election.
The creation of the Transition and Inauguration planning committee gives Hon. Kamorudeen a formal structure through which to undertake the tasks necessary in the orderly transition into executive office of the local government— it has also been stated as an enabler for the committee members to working hand-in-hand with the outgoing chairman and his team for a detailed transfer of power to the new administration.
In a brief that followed the announcement of the two committees, the chairman-elect, Hon. Kamorudeen said members shortlisted on the two committees have significant government administration experience which will serve well in the transition and inauguration process.
